Hospital-grade Sterilization
Sterilization equipment, such as an autoclave and ultrasonic cleaner, are on the premises. All implements used to perform the piercing (prep packs, forceps, hemostats, etc.) are packaged and sterilized. A new, sterilized needle is used on one person only. All needles are disposed of in a sharps container and are disposed of using a bio-hazard materials service. A new pair of medical-grade exam gloves are used for all piercings and each glove change required during a piercing. All surfaces are disinfected before and after each piercing.

All piercings are performed with new autoclaved jewelry. We pride ourselves on offering the best quality body jewelry.
Checkered Past always removes and re-installs body jewelry purchased here at no extra charge.
After-care Instructions
Checkered Past is open 6 days a week for any questions you may have. After-care instructions are specific to each type of piercing and explained in detail by our piercers. Piercees are also provided with a written copy of care instructions at the time of the piercing.
